Governor Overhaul

All propellers and governors must be reworked at periodic intervals. Each Manufacturer publishes this information in the form of a Service Bulletin. Quite often an A.D. Note will require this rework before the component reaches its published TBO limit. These limits are established for actual time in service as well as calendar time in service.

Governors are disassembled, cleaned, and inspections will include dimension inspection of bores, shafts, and valves. The body, base, and cover will be penetrant inspected. We check for engineering change updates, A.D. Notes, Service Bulletins, and Service Letters and comply with all necessary service items.

We install all required overhaul parts, rework or replace any outdated parts, and reassemble our governors according to factory specifications. All governors are tested on a Greer Governor Test Machine that simulates the aircraft engine. Syncronizing governors are set using an ocilloscope. The electrically actuated governors are tested by applying the required current. After function testing all parts are safetied, torque seal is applied to critical settings, the test sheet is completed and the governor is returned to service with Maintenance Release.

Please send your name, e-mail, fax, or phone number, and the make and model of your governor, and the aircraft it is installed on. We will compile this information and furnish a valid estimate to you.
